I usually have a goof or two in my blog each day. Aleene asks, very gently, "Where'd you get that factoid?" Well, usually it is a typo or misquote or I just blow it completely. Saturday I had Cooper weighing a pound more than I should have...so I corrected it. Aleene thought I was quoting Gary because the number I had did not compute with what Jan had reported...Gary was fine...it was my typing. Also I had Gary doing Division III football in the MAC...hardly. It is the MIAA and I woke up in the middle of then night with that correction....so I just fixed that. I know better, but I get going too fast and my brain does not work as quickly as it used to.
Amy is opining about August and the non-school preparation she is going through. I know what she means, but carpe diem, dudette. You'll have more creative outlets soon enough.
The Peaches and Herb theme went ok. I was rushed. With all the other jazz going on in church, I only left myself 12 minutes. And I was not speaking from a prepared text yesterday. I wanted to be more free...so I ended up going over. I started the talk with a rap. I had the folks clap while I recited a lymeric I had written as an attention getter. Unbeknownst ot me, the kids from DVBS performed a rap too just before the Offertory...so the congregation was used to rapping. I think what I was trying to point out went flying over a lot of heads...my fault because I had way too much information for 20 minutes. But I got the usual congrats from the gracious ones who always complement me. Aleene, however, pointed out a grevious error in my recollection of the Scripture. It was Reuben and not Benjamin that saved Joseph from being killed by his siblings. And I wanted to mention Asher...and I forgot...again, too rushed.
I have been working on the Jeep this morning getting it closer to being ready for being our towed vehicle for the fall/winter season. I must get back to that task. But I did get a chance to talk to some interesting folks this morning in my journies...as I told Amy above...carpe diem.
