Open House at 1256 St. Andrews

Today's Sentinel has 1256 St. Andrews Drive in the upper left of the For Sale By Owner section. It says an Open House is scheduled for tomorrow....wow. We better get the house cleaned. Yes, we will.

I finally pinned Aleene down to a time...to schedule an open house so we are piggy backing with the Parade of Homes and the Open House for the model here at Rolling Meadows. I have my signs ready to go. Forsalebyowner.com sent us a bunch of signs and our next door neighbor had an Open House sign...so up they go tomorrow morning. Not sure if they are legal, but we will try. I got permission to put a sign in the window, but not in the yard...except for open houses.

I golfed with Larry Lee and Bob Schippers the other day...good to get together with them. Bob's son and daughter in law live in Newberg, OR too (small world, eh?) and they were headed out there this weekend for the first anniversary of their granddaughter's transplanted heart. She was born with major heart defects and now lives with an other child's heart. She is doing quite well.

Larry and Anne are considering moving closer to their kids (one in Connecticut and one in NC). I think they are leaning toward the NC mountains (Ashville) for the summer and Ft. Meyers in the winter...good life, right?

So with all that in mind, we plod along with our plan to sell here and move to OR. Our next door neighbor, Janet Anderson, has a friend who is coming over to look at our place tomorrow, so we know we will get one person to our open house, for sure.

One other thing....the Lakeshore HR Assn. gave out our scholarships yesterday. One to a college senior the other to a freshman. They had 27 applicants...the most ever, so it was very competative. The WMU senior was Colleen Clark (Fennville) the MSU frosh was this year's top graduate at Saugatuck. Her mom is HR Manager at Pfizer, Jackie Kleino, who I have known for a long time. Colleen has all kinds of connections...her oldest sister Cammi was a student of mine and one of her other sisters is in HR in Battle Creek whom I ran into this winter....and on and on and on. Her sister Kyli (sp) is no longer going with Kyle Raak...so that connection ended. Small world again, but I was encouraged to see two outstanding students from small schools bring home the bacon ($1500 each) and be studying HR...what a deal.

Good news that Dana Anger will likely come home from the hospital this weekend after being off all monitoring and able to eat completely on her own...and is gaining weight. She is the daughter of Micki and Shawn Anger (Jan and Gary Frens are the grandparents) and was born about a month premature weighing in at 3# 2oz. Not sure what she weighs now, but she lost and has now surpassed her birth weight. What a little tyke...but seemingly is none the worse for her experience. Harmonize on the Doxology, please.
