Saturday Morning

I am posting less and less since we are in Newberg area. But I have a few minutes as we wait for everyone to get ready to go to breakfast at our favorite spot in McMinnville.

We have finally caught our stride...staying in the MH at night and driving (Amy's Jeep) to their house in the morning...it is about 10 minutes away. The park, Champoeg (pronounced sham-poo-ee) was full last night. It is spring break here and everyone is scurrying. Rose likes Champoeg as do we for similar, but different reasons. The walking trails are paved in lots of cases so it does not matter if it rains or has rained...you stay out of the mud. We walked the ridge next to the river (Willamette) for about a mile yesterday through the blossiming woods in the sunshine...all paved. Up and down paths to the river's edge are barked, then mud-like. It is spring here afterall.

Went out for breakfast...in fact, just returned. Took a look around Mc-ville while we were there. It is the county seat with about 30K population...a bout 10K bigger than Newberg. It is a nice city with two colleges and some industry. The Spruce Goose Museum (from Aviator fame) is housed here. Haven't paid the bucks to see it yet, but you can get a quick glimpse through the glass from the highway.

Rose and the cats are doing better. When we got back this morning she came out of Amy's bedroom which is where the cats nest when people are not around. So it would appear that the cats tolerated Rose and she chose to be with them. She has learned that you cannot herd cats.

This morning when we came in from the camp Rose acted as if she knew who was here. In fact, Tru was on the couch in his jammies. She saw him and did her circle dance in welcome. Tru was not up to that so Rose got her ball and threw it up in his lap...I think she understands.

Not much else for now...enjoy your day.
