Sunday...well, really Saturday night

Since most of you who read this are on EST, at 6:09 PST it is safe to assume you will not be reading this until Sunday morning...and since we will be a hurry tomorrow morning (Palm Sunday) to keep moving, I will write now.

I have received, directly or indirectly, affirmation that those reading enjoy hearing our tales as we experience the trip around our beautiful country...thank you. You realize, of course, that you have only egged me on to write more.

Aleene and I have been weighing the pros and cons of moving here; and beyond that where we might want to locate. There are advantages to each place we consider. But I told her this afternoon, as we walked back from one of three coffee houses located within blocks of eachother in Newberg, was whether or not we wanted to move here...not where. We can figure that out when we get here and look at housing that is availble at that time. There is a west coast life style...not to be confused with the California life style. Oregon, especially the Willamette Valley, has its own pace and outlook on life. Keep in mind that the legacy of the Valley is that people began moving here 150 years ago to start a new life. So there is a bit of an independence that you do not get in the mid-west...let alone Holland. They are laid back, yes, but they are very contemplative. Keep in mind also that we are around Quakers, who by nature are thinking, contemplative people.

Truman is going out to the MH with us tonight to watch a DVD and have popcorn with us. Amy and Bren are going to the symphony at George Fox (Univerisity were Bren works). So we have to have Tru back by eight a.m. so he can get ready for church. His Sunday School is during church like ours is in Fennville. That is typical Quaker since typicall they have unprogrammed or meditation service on Sunday. The kids do about 15 minutes of that then go to SS. North Valley (see my December/January blog for views on that) has both unprogrammed (first) and programmed (traditional, second) on Sunday...but SS is during regular Meeting.

So we will be flying low in the morning. Rose will get to stay here with the cats when we go to Meeting...she can do it. So until afternoon (more like 4:00 EST) this will have to do for now. I will let you know how the night went with Tru on his first overnight.

I love reading your posts!!
So if you move out there.. does that mean Amy will have no reason to come out here anymore??... :-(
