Enjoying Up-North

Boyne City has much more charm than I imagined. After spending some time with Jeff and Mary we ate down town, then we walked over the Boyne River to the city park where there was some music going one. It was a beautiful evening. (The one downside was a couple of boys who worked very hard at getting the swings tangled up so others couldn't use them. There were no adults around supervising, so they worked very hard to get all four swings unusable.)

B&D, Wes & M spent about 24 hours with us...off and on. They went back south after lunch, which we ate at water's edge of Lake Charlevoix. It was good to see everyone and catch up. Some of our talk was about Kelli and her ordeal, which she is bravely fighting. I am sure she will be fine somewhere in the future, but in the meantime, it is troubling to see such a gifted young woman have to deal with the day to day realities of her disease.

We continue to love our accommodations. Mary is working today and Jeff is on kid patrol to some extent, but we should be able to spend some time with him. They both will be here for supper tonight. Did I mention we have a nice Weber grille?

We found a coffee shop this morning where we drank our coffee outside like we do at Coffee Cottage. Just a bit different; the coffee was not quite as good.
