From Ottawa, Illinois....somewhere on I-80 west of Chicago. As most know, this was M Day...not May Day, but Move Day. Got the truck at 8:00 the guys showed up at 10:30 and began to load that Bad Boy. Geeee whiz, we had a lot of boxes. Anyway, we had too much. So we left the washer and dryer (which were going to Amy), the spare refrigerator and my Weber Grille. Well, Hafer's and Sievert's to the rescue...we got a home for the grill and maybe the refrig. If anyone is interested in the w/d call Wes. They are 2001 model Kenmore. Dang I hated leaving things behind, but that truck was loaded.
We cleared Holland at 4:10, began calling family to tell them we were actually on our way, stopped for a sandwich at the rest stop in Indiana and marched into the teath of the dog (Chicago traffic.) I gotta tell, you it was a snap. No slowdowns, no waiting, just smooth sailing. The eastbound folks, on the otherhand had a parking lot to deal with at the toll booth.
Aleene and I are a bit frazzeled...up early, tense all day, emotional goodbyes driving four hours...so, after CSI: Miami (which is on early here) we will turn in.
It looks like the load road well, at least I could get the back door up when we stopped to get out our suitcases. I have know idea how the rub spots might be doing. We used 84 of those moving blankets...seven dozen. The guy at Penske said he had never given anyone seven dozen before, but we used them all.
Thanks to Marilyn, Wes, Duane, and Margot for their loving attention, food, expertese on taking the dining room table apart, etc., etc. We love you all.
More later
