We're back

Got in last night without a hitch. But here it is at 6:00 a.m. EST and I can't sleep. I have a bit of a cold and kept coughing, so I got up. Not much else to do so I am trying to get caught up on things here in the office.

The trip home was uneventful. We actually left Portland on time and got into Chicago ahead of schedule. We left the ramp at ORD on time, after a gate change, and then taxied for 30 minutes. ORD is big and just when we got to our runway, they shifted the take off configuration which means the wind shifted and they sent us to another runway...miles away. It felt as though we were in Gary, IN by the time we took off. Anyhow, 30 min in the air and we were here 15 minutes late. Found the car and got it out of hock and proceeded through the pay booth, but the driver window was frozen shut...welcome to Michigan.

We have lots to do before we head out again...on or slightly after Dec. 15 so we are making lists. It was good to be home. Marilyn and Wes had a bouquet of flowers on the counter waiting with a welcome note...thoughtful.

Amy reports that Tru was sad for most of the trip from the airport, so they stopped and got a milk shake and that perked things up a bit. The boys were so much fun to be with. We are looking forward to our next adventure.
