Friday...follow up

Obviously I got hooked up with the internet...add to that a ton of cable TV channels and a beautiful park in Ozark, Alabama.

I finally gave out. We drove south through Birmingham, Montgomery and headed toward Dothan, AL which is a spot I visited many time with H&C. Aleene had a campground scoped east of there, but after we fueled up at Troy (Troy University, nee. Troy State), I said something like...lets get the nicest campground we can as soon as we can. Within minutes Aleene found Ozark 20 miles away in our Big Book. Bingo, we are here.

Even Rose is ready to hang it up early today. We came 900 miles in about 28 hours. We are so close to Florida....whew. Oh yes, we stayed west on purpose due to the forecast for bad weather from Georgia north. Alabama was 55 degrees and sunny with rain predicted for Saturday.

We are thinking of revisiting Jacksonville area (the beaches south of the St. Johns River) where we honeymooned in 1965. The Sea Turtle restaurant is still open and Aleene is relishing the idea of Surf and Turf...her entre then...on Saturday night.

Anyone care to visit the carrier piers at Mayport with me?
Enough for now...it is time to eat.

Peace
