I tell folks who ask about the weather in Oregon...that part where we are headed at least...that a bad winter day is 35 degrees and rain. Well, we are experiencing just that. The weather while we have been here has been delightful...sun, sun, and more sun...then two days ago it began to rain. Today is the bad winter day that I have talked about. What makes it worse is that the rain is coming down in buckets and the wind is blowing. Makes you want to stay inside, but instead we went out for lunch.
The freeze line, according to the TV, is about 1500 feet elevation, so the skiers are happy and the talk on the TV, again, is about snow in the passes and high elevations. Get your chains on, they say.
Amy "works" tonight so we are doning things together before we head out tomorrow. She has her class in Tigard which is a close-in suburb or Portland. She meets with them once a week and they do a lot of the class on line. We will keep the kids until Bren gets home.
Their boys are great. Asher is a mamma's boy when she is around, but is fine when we have him alone. Tru just loves to do things with us...Aleene has been helping him write a book and I tell him stories about farm animals and throw in a few lessons of life. We are making plans to go fishing next summer. The Coastal range is the first place I will head...great looking streams. Lots to understand about the great Pacific North West.
I had to comment on the weather, because if this is as bad as it gets...I can take it.
