We got back from a lovely weekend up north yesterday. The colors were spectacular. It was especially colorful around Cadillac. Boyne City was nice, but leaves were beginning to drop, so the uniform carpet effect was not quite as evident as in Wexford County.
We stayed at Young State Park just outside of Boyne City on Lake Charlivoix. We ate breakfast in Charlivoix Saturday and then ran errands in Gaylord before the 4:00 p.m. wedding. Ben and Trisha were great. They had a beautiful fall wedding with lots of support. Ben's dad did the service.
The reception was nice. It was held in Hudson Twp. hall in C. County...out in the stix. The food was great and we stayed around to cut the rug a time or two before we headed back to camp. Sunday it drizzled and the Steelers were on TV up north, so guess what I did?
We met Jeff, Mary, and the two kids for supper in Boyne City. They live close to there with their day and attend school in BC.
Monday we headed home....220 miles in brilliant sunshine. It was good for us to prelude our December journey, towing the car and all, and gave us a reality check...six weeks in the Motor Home with Rose. She did fine.
Cleo Souders died and her funeral is Wednesday.
