It worked. A few hours around the campfire, many cups of coffee in the chilly air and a chance to reconnect and we are ready for the rest of the fall schedule…at least until the next outing on Oct. 22. What is that you ask? Our oldest granddaughter is getting married then in Gaylord. Wow this instant family thing is amazing.
Our plan is to go to Young State Park which is near Boyne City, Jeep in tow, and then attend the wedding in Gaylord and the reception which is closer to Boyne Falls…then kick back a day and come home Oct 24. Rose likes the plan too…except for the part of staying alone while we do the wedding. She’ll be fine.
Van Buren State Park is quiet. There might be 6 other campers here. It has been quite mild, really and our walk to the Lake last evening revealed an angry body of water. The wind was whipping out of the northwest, and while we heard it, there was virtually no wind at the campsite. This morning Rose and I did a sunrise walk and it was so calm then we could hear the traffic on I-196.
I have a mediation Wednesday which could be a hum-dinger. Thursday, Wes, Duane, Bob and I are going to the Kalamazoo Air Museum. This is something Wes and I have planned to do for over two years. The other two guys expressed and interest, so we set a date and here it is. I am looking forward to the vintage Navy planes, Duane and Wes want to check out the older USAF models (F-86, F-100, etc.) I printed a list of displays off their website and it might takes us hours to get out of there.
Friday, I think we are going to get our realtor person involved in selling the condo. At least we gave it a shot ourselves. We are getting anxious to move on, so here we go.
We had a good discussion about the Meridian house with Amy and Bren over the weekend. We will check it out in November when we are there and then decide to deal or not. It is small, but has possibilities.
Saturday I am off to Minneaplois returning the evening of the 4th. This is the kick-off of my work with my Kansas City partner. I have programs every two weeks following in Chicago, Detroit and wrapping up in Portland in time for Asher's first birthday and Thanksgiving. So that should be interesting.
Tonight we are meeting Seivert's and Sandy and Hank Kochman (formerly from Eagle Point, Fennville) for supper. They are in South Carolina now...better get going.
