Congratulations and best wishes.....

Back when protocol mattered, I was always told that in the case of an engagement, congratulations were given to the girl and best wishes to the guy. At one time I had that figured out, but the reason has escaped me. Both are in order for Jeff and Mary. Jeff popped the question and Mary said YES.

Jeff called today (remember we are in Texas) and said this is the call you have been expecting. I said that I was glad I was sitting down....then he made the announcement. Great, I said, when is the day? At this point the best guess is the end of September...perhaps the 24th. There are reasons and things that preclude other days, so perhaps by default, the 24th gets it. We will see.

We are happy for the couple...they have worked hard to get to this point and I am sure they are saying to themselves...what else is there to wait for or consider. Go for it, Kids!

Our best to you for years of happiness...hope you can make 40 as we have...if that means anything; life together is the best.
