We are settling in again...Aleene being home after 3 weeks. We are going north tomorrow for the weekend at Hartwick Pines State Park...one of our favorites. That is just a few miles south of Jeff and a delightful place to walk in the woods. The campground looks full for Saturday, but Sunday everyone will pull out...'cept us since we will leave Monday for home
Aleene and I got our calendars out for July...a trip to Texas, perhaps, and one to PA. I have a gig in Wisconsin nearer the end of the month and....well, that is about enough.
Our friends of 33+ years, Duane and Margot Hafer moved back into our lives again after 25 years away. They were in Fennville when we moved there...left for Hartford and then Sister Lakes in 1980. That is an hour away and played out by them meeting us in South Haven for lunch or dinner...or occasionally we went to the other's house. Well, they moved to Holland yesterday...not much over a mile from us. So we are glad to have them back.
I finished my Cornerstone class Wednesday and mailed the grades out this morning. Yes! I love to teach, but the administrative stuff is a drag. They are soooo careful about grading and student's rights that it is a cya type of environment. And I understand why. When people paid $35 for a three credit class (as I did in 1969) no one sweat it. But classes today cost $1,000+ today and students want their money's worth. But it was fun for me.
Off to the camper to do some minor maintenance before we pull out tomorrow. The sun is shining and it promises to be 80+ for Father's Day on Sunday...yea.
