Tuesday, March 22

The time is going by quickly. So much to do and Spring Break is only a week long...
Truman had such a good time on Saturday night with us he talked us in to letting him go to the MH again Sunday evening. He likes the cozy atmosphere and Rose is there, which he likes, of course.

Yesterday I got up sick with the 24 hour flu...hopefully 24 hours. Not sure what brought it on, just had upper GI stuff with the 'just been run over by a truck' feeling. Needless to say folks stayed away from me and I took drugs and slept. By evening I took nourishment (some yummie chicken soup) and began to feel human again. Tru did not stay with us Monday night, but I was able to watch TV until 11:00 pm with Aleene (CSI:Miami and Medium; you do both by flipping back and forth with the remote which Aleene is quite good at.) Today I am much better.

We took the MH to McMinnville to be serviced (5K mile oil change and have them look at the refer.) They found the culprit, which was an electronic controller. Fortunately, not that expensive to replace. Now we can cool going down the road without the generator running and sucking gas out of the engine's tank. While that was being done, Amy had her car serviced and we three and Tru went shopping...fun. Penney's, Ross' and I took Tru into the Petco store to look at geco, snake, rat, fish, etc. while Amy and Aleene went to Pier 1. While we were shopping the RV place called and said they were finished, so we got everything done by noon. Back to Champoeg to re-attach things for two more nights.

On Thursday we are heading to Lincoln City on the coast to an RV place there. All of us are going. They have a big outlet mall and a casino in the area. I think Bren will drive the car down for wheels while there. LC is about 50 miles from here...over the Coastal Mountains. It is the closest point to the coast from Newberg, but it is not as intimate as is Pacific City. We chose LC since the RV place had a web site that I could register on and we got a place. The State Parks are full or are like Champoeg...first come, first served, and this being Spring Break is tough to weasle in. It is not beach weather, but I have to see the Pacific once while here and eat some clam chowder. We do have arrangements for the last six days at Champoeg when we get back on Saturday.

So, two plus two plus six means ten more nights in Oregon before we head back. I have been watching the snow storms over the Watsch Mts. in Utah and the Wyoming Rockies...hope this is all done by April 1 when we head east. Oh well, we will just pull over and sleep if we must. We will have LP gas filled and the heater has been doing quite well. Did I mention we had frost at Champoeg on Monday? Yep, its a fact. Gets up to mid-50s during the day, but cold at night. Last night was not as cold. None of the blossoms looked cooked in Newberg, so the frost we had south and east of here must have been localized.

Aleene and I will be lost with out Amy next week...when she goes back to work. I presume we will keep Tru a few days, and do some looking around.

Not much else to report. The animals are doing well together. I got the greatest picture of Rose and Tru at the top of the steps both with balls in their mouths getting ready to drop them down the steps. They play together quite well. Rose lay down with Tru for his nap today...not sure either slept, but they thought it was cool. As I said, Rose wasn't doing anything else, she may as well be in his room.

Enough. Enjoy the day.
