THursday evening

The Pacific Ocean is in my line of sight as I write this evening...from Lincoln City, OR. We motored over here today with Amy, Bren and Tru in their car. We are in an RV park that is high up the hill overlooking the Pacific. It is beautiful. This place has full hookups, WiFi and a cable tv hookup that is better than ours at home! We are on concrete with grass around us, but this is not a recreation Mecca, it is a stopping point for the ocean, shopping, and we learned, for a shuttle bus 24/7 every twelve minutes to the local casino. Can you believe it? All this beauty and people come here to gamble...yes, they do.

We did our ritual trip to Dory Cove which serves the absolute best clam chowder...thick cream, bacon and clams. I had the scallops, too. The seafood around here is the best, rivals my memories of the Patuxant River spot Dave used to take us to forty plus years ago.

We did a long walk on the beach. It is about 55 degrees, but kids are wading, people in sleeping bags, flying kites...you name it. The water of course is cold...it is never warm here, but the weather is moderate at the 45th parallel. LC is not our favorite spot, but it is the largest city in Central Coast area and all the commerce is here including an outlet mall.

Tomorrow we hike and go to the mall and eat, this time in the MH...and sleep, of course. Friday is the best day from a weather point of view the forecast for the Sat and Sun is heavy rain. We will leave Saturday before noon. We will celebrate Easter in Newberg.

That's about it for now...Maunday Thursday and Good Friday from the West Cost...in territory safely above the Tsunami area...so I should sleep well tonight.
