March ends tomorrow...as a lion or lamb

Depends where you were when March began...lion-like in Michigan or lamb-like in Texas where we were...but here we are at the end of the month and I am still watching the weather. The GR weather that follows us by WiFi looks more lion-like than it was...and we are colder and wetter than we were at the begining of the month. But it is really April 1, 2, and 3 that are on my mind.
Then along comes Jeff the weather watcher. We have spent more time on the phone the last three days talking about the weather and will continue to until we leave Friday morning (PST). Fortunately Jeff is on afternoons and gets home around 12:30 a.m. EST which of course is about my bedtime here (9:30 PST)...so it works out well...it is also after hours for the cell phone. Ah yes, technology is great.

Regardless of the weather, Grammy has spoken: we will leave here Friday morning and just see what we get! Faith...Grammy's faith; that too is great.

We had a ball with Tru today. He slept over at Champoeg with us last night. He sort of slid out of bed at about 4:00 am and wanted to squeeze in with Grammy...so she let him. Trouble was that within a few minutes he took over her spot. So Grammy just traded beds with him. When I got up...they had swapped beds and only Tru was sleeping. I think Grammy got the short end of the deal, myself.

We closed camp (which is more work for Grammy than me since all the kitchen things have to be stowed for a ride) so I could get Propane. Tru and Grammy went to the house and got his bike and by the time we both were back at Champoeg the sun was out! What a deal. He rode for an hour, we had walked earlier, and then we all (Rose included) went into town for lunch. In the afternoon it was surmized that all would sleep...not so fast. Tru's engine was still running too fast to sleep, so as luck would have it, only Rose and I napped. Poor Grammy came up short again.

Tomorrow, Thursday, the true end of March, Tru goes to daycare so we can get serious about shopping, stowing and preparing to leave. He has not seen his beloved Jane (daycare provider) for a week and a half what with us being here and Spring Break for Amy, but I think he is ready.

So with mountain pass weather in mind, we prepare to depart on our final leg home. Did I mention that people have been mowing grass for about a month here? It is lush, so lush right now. No wonder that moss grows on anything that will support it.

Grrr or Bahh tomorrow, we can handle it. The best to you all...

So glad that you have had a good trip. One of these times I am going to get down there while you are in town or you are going to make it to Lakewood to see the house. I have enjoyed reading about your journey and your time with Truman. Isn't he the best? My times in Newberg seem to fly by so quickly! Glad he enjoyed his time with you two (and Rosie!!) so much. Have a safe journey back to Michigan. Amy Diehr
