Easter in OR

Aleene and I got going early this morning so we could watch Tru look for eggs. We were right on schedule and he did his thing...lots of laughs. We all went to church for breakfast and then for services...programmed, remember.

The services was like the others I have discribed at North Valley Friends...but this was Easter. It was a subdued celebration, but very inspired. I love the songs they choose.

Back home for naps and put the ham in the oven while Aleene prepared her patented corn bread with creamed corn...yes. I napped, as did Tru and others of our group.

At three we headed over to Nawnee's. Bren's sister and her family (Hamptons) were there as was another couple and their two small children and Hiede's sister. These are the missionary folks that just escaped Haiti after the last revolt. So there were six kids under 5 (2 Koreans) and ten adults all under (ahem...my age). We had a very interactive meal and good discussion time afterwards...now back "home" while Tru gets ready for bed.

I think Aleene and I will split up tonight...I will go to the MH with Rose and she will stay here to be ready to greet Tru in the morning when he gets up and before Amy goes to work...we are sitting with him tomorrow. This is the final leg. We will sit with Tru Mon, Tue and Wed...then pack Thursday, say our goodbyes Thursday evening and pull out after the rush hour on Friday. You have to go north to get east in the Valley, just no other way to go over the mountains, but what a ride. We will be going east on I-84 up the Colombia River valley which is one of the most awesome sights going. I love this ride following the river east then we will be swinging southeast to the Idaho boarder...but more on that later.

Hope all had a blessed Easter. We really enjoyed ours.
