Easter Eve in Oregon

I tell people that a bad winter day in the Willamette Valley of Oregon is 40 degrees and rain which is basically true...so a bad spring day is 50 degrees and rain. The latter describes our weather here today. We awoke at the beach with a pelting rain sound and strong wind gusts...enough to shake the MH from side to side. But we managed to stay in until about seven. Tru was the last one up so we crept around to keep from bumping into each other. I of course was the first out with Rose. She demands immediate attention in the morning.

Went out for breakfast...you have to remember that Lincoln City is like any other beach town you have been in; lots of things that cater to tourists. Eating places are plentiful here. Did I mention the sea food?

We broke camp in the rain and Aleene and I made the 1 hour and 15 minute trek...about 65 miles back over the mountains with no problem. Once in the hills the wind abated and it was nothing like what we had in LA two weeks ago.

Back to Newberg and a chance to check back into Champoeg for the next six nights...that's all there is left of the journey. We had to stock up on provisions and then scout out where we would fill with Propane before we head east. Using our furnace and refrigerator as well as the hot water heater as much as we do, the propane has burned down constantly. The good part is that it is not expensive to fill. Since we have a built in tank they meter it in instead of weighing it and at $2.00 per gallon, it is one of the less expensive items we have to buy. It is also our life blood while on the road and jumping in and out of RV parks. I want one last fill (about 6 gallons) before we trek the mountains. If we get hung up we will be fine...our furnace works very well.

Things are shaping up for a family (Brendon's) Easter dinner with ham and all the trimmings at his mother's (Nawnee) after North Valley Friends Meeting for us tomorrow morning. Presently Aleene and Amy are preparing an Easter Basket for Tru while he and his dad are out running errands.

My next evolution is a....nap....yes! Blessings and best wishes for a great Easter. West Michigan weather looks favorable for a change. Yea...keep it coming, we will be back in two weeks.

Weather looks to be on your side at least for Michigan. I haven't looked at the rest of your route. Will get something on my website soon.

It's been great to read your posts during your trip. Mary and I have been following them. See you when you get back!

Love, Jeff

Sounds like you are getting everything in order for the next leg. We went to Sunrise service this morning, a littlr cool at 6:00 but in the mid 70's now should be a warm week. Got hit in the knee last night umpiring a baseball game and it is REALLY sore today. I went down like a rock! Happy Easter to all.
