The second day on the river we came to Mule Creek Gorge. The river narrows to about 30 feet and gets extremely turbulent. Coffee Pot, they call it. You move swiftly and in higher water times you bounce around like a pin ball...these rubber rafts off the granite walls. We made it through Coffee Pot and stopped to enjoy the scenery at Mule Creek...that falls is the river coming into the Rogue. The sun was hot, but the water was cool.
Thanks to my friends, John Shaffer, Archie Brown and Charlie Goodman, I had a true Western Oregon experience.
