Whale watching at Pac City

At the risk of sounding too over the top, I have to report that I saw a whale this morning at our spot in Pacific City. Fortuantely I had the binoculars with me, too. I was talking to my brother Dave from the ocean's edge when I first saw it "blow" and then after I hung up and went looking for Aleene and Tru in the crowd of low-tide seekers, I saw it twice more.

It was not more than a hundred yards off shore...low tide...so in deep water and would blow then dive. I did not see its flukes. Other whales I have seen before were black, this guy was gray and covered with barnacles. Quite a sight.
