The Tigers? In first place?

Wouldn't you know it. Just when we move the Tigers get a manager that can motivate them and there they sit atop the AL Central...just inches ahead of the WS winning Sox. Jim Leland led my Buccos for a number of years and other than smoking in the dugout, I thought he was a great manager. He went to Florida and took the Marlins to a penant. At least that is how I remember it. Now watch the Lions...they peddled Harrington and got a no nonsense coach...they will probably win some games. Oh well... now maybe the Feds will find Jimmy H now that we are gone too.

We spent 2 1/2 hours at the DMV today, but came away with our Oregon identity: new plates for the Jeep and our driver's licenses. I will not tell you how much less expensive Oregon is than Michigan when it comes to motor vehicles. Just suffice it to say that through insurance rates being 1/3 and the driver's license being less as well as the plates (for two years, yet) we are saving about $400/ year. Not bad. No use or sales tax so they don't get you there either. We did have to take the Jeep to the DEQ to do a pollution test and we passed. What a state.

We did not do the motor home since it is in McMinnville and will have to have its gases checked too. MH will be a bit more than the Jeep, but less than MI.

Hot again today, but ooohhh so nice to be in sunshine. Rain is forecast, just in time for our sale tomorrow.... but I gotta tell you WX guys out here do not have the accuracy that they do in MI. If they did on target forecasts like they do at WZZM, the arrows would fill the sky, as in the "try again" graphic they use when they miss. But, Jeff, I do find the NWS site is better because they are much more localized.

Got our final plans...I may have mentioned that. Now, all we have to do is start bidding the work out.

A lot of that has to do with the lack of observations from the west. Satellite can do only so much, but with no one observing the weather over the ocean, the computer gudiance lacks a lot of details.

Right on. I apreciate the ocean issue, but...The TV guys try to cover too much area of the state...PDX is the only TV for a vast area, so they do coast, valley, Cascades, gorge, eastern. The cable stations in Baker City...300 mi east of here...were PDX and their weather guys tried to do it all. Then, they go too fast, not like Craig and Bill and George. NWS is probably forecasting the same area, but their on line forecasts are much more accurate.

Hope you are all well....
