It is time to blog again

Several days have gone by since my last post...we've been busy. Each day a few more things get put in place...some for the final time, others only to be moved again, and again, and again. Really, it has gone quite well. Last night I sold...sold...over50 boxes that were unloaded and knocked down. A family Amy knows is moving to Hawaii and is filling their own container. She was desperate, so thankful. I sold them for less than 25 cents on the dollar. They are in remarkably good shape.

Through the entire move, nothing has shown up broken. There were a few rub marks on a couple of obscure pieces, but by and large, things came through fine. We still have a storage room full and the garage has been trasformed from a box staging area to a yard sale staging area. We are continuing to cut, cut, cut. A few things have gone to Amy permanently and some until we finish building.

Wes reported Larry K had shown the condo to a guy three times. I emailed LK and he reported the showing went well, but the gent has a house to sell first...you know what that means.

Not sure how all the stuff we couldn't get on the truck ended up. Leon and Kristy, it sounds, wound up with the bulk of it.

The kids have been here several times, but we are not ready for extended stays. They know where the Play Room is. I did not realize we had so many toys...and that was just for a visit once a year. But they are being put into play. Tru is busy with school and Spanish and visits to cousins. He loves to come alone to play dominoes or checkers. Asher is content with a plastic egg or ball of some sort.

We have met many nice neighbors. Several are Fox employees, so know Bren and/or Amy. Those of us who live on the south side of town are a unique breed, we are finding. But we are in good company. GF's president is just around the corner and the head of the Masters of Education department walks by every day and says hi. There are children around of all shades...white, brown and our guys. They have a neighbor who is a reletive of a cousin of theirs that is from India. He is a unique little guy, but loves to skateboard with Bren and Tru. And so it goes in our new neighborhood.

Oh yes, I got my hair cut today by a guy for the first time in 22 years. I loved it. Walked to his shop, talked college football for 30 minutes, paid $10 and walked home. He is an Duck fan and his inlaws are from the UP of Michigan. So he saw a game at Camp Randall Stadium (OU vs. Wisc) and they are travelling to Ann Arbor this fall for a game. He knows all about the Big Ten.

We have lots to do. So I better get back at it be fore the boss catches me sloughing off.
