Waiting patiently...or not

We have kept our eye on 311 S. Meridian for the past couple of days to be sure the aforementioned renter was, in fact, moving out this weekend. The good news is we have seen signs of progress (truck in driveway on two days) but the uncertainty is killing us (me). I am ready to move in...NOW.

Yesterday we went looking for a utility trailer to haul debris and building materials in...and found a couple...one locally and one in a neighboring community. We are waiting to measure the garage to see what we have room for. We are going to need something to accomplish our remodeling goals. Aleene has to keep me in check...I need to become more West Coast about all this. Interestingly, trailers with a gross weight of under 2,000 # do not require a license. Score another one for Oregon. The biggest one would be 1800 # fully loaded. That is with a load bigger than a pickup.

We have had a quiet two days with the dogs and cats (which do not show publically much without their momma...Amy...around).

Today we went to Newberg First UM church. We have always gone to North Valley Friends, so the UM experience was a first. They have a NW looking building that, once inside, is UM thru and thru. They have a small pipe organ and a choir of about 20. The pastor is a woman who delivered a killer sermon this morning on Jesus curing the leper. They have heads-up display of words for their hymns...mainly choruses...and some really interesting programs (to us). They cultivate and grow a community garden to furnish their food bank (which they call Newberg FISH) and have their own Habitat house they are working on. Needless to say that got Aleene's attention.

Today is beautiful...100% sun (no sun "breaks") and a high of about 60. The grass needs to be mowed both here on 5th ST and at S. Meridian.

Our new address is: 311 South Meridan, Newberg, OR 97132. Please use S with Meridain because there is a 311 North Meridian. When I got the cable appointment there was a mixup and the guy at North was asking them why he was getting his cable upgraded....incidentally, the guy there is a contractor and I will call him to see if he wants to bid on our project(s).

Our phones will remain our Cell numbers... (616) 550-3432 (me) and (616) 550-5709 (Aleene) for the time being. We will likey NOT have a house phone. We will see.

I will update folks on the new e-mail. For now, continue to use Tom.Lutz@Earthlink.net. I will keep that going at least thru May...including when we are in Michigan in April. Aleene's will continue to be AleeneLutz@Earthlink.net during that same time. We will likely go Comcast soley then, but we will see. We need to cut some of these communications costs while we are at it.
