February 1 in the West Valley

Phoenix is a large metro area...but easy to get around (without traffic) due to its east-west, north-south orientation. Flat as flat can be, but always mountains in the background. While 500 people a day are estimated to move (permanently) into the valley each DAY, there is still land to grow...probably all the way to LA which is about 350 miles away. Water is a concern, for sure, but there seems to be no end to growth.

Wes and Marilyn are taking a side trip today, but will be back Thrusday night and then head east via Tucson on Friday. We still plan to pull out on Sunday morning. So the week is coming to an close. I am sure Jan and Gary will be glad for a breather, but they will be getting more company from Michigan by the middle of the month. Everybody wants to visit in January and February.

Our thoughts are beginning to turn to Oregon...we will be there in less than a week and so starts our new life out there. When we made up our mind to make this move, I told Aleene I wanted to do this, but I hated the process. Well, we are in the middle of the process...and I am surviving.

Take care...
