The Gulf Coast

We spent a protion of the day getting to Panama City Beach, through Seaside and other upscale communities along the shore. Hidden in between are a series of State Parks...public access walks to the beach. We took one, over the dunes on a beautiful boardwalk. What a lovely day for such a walk. We have walked over dunes before: at the Pacific, at Lake Michigan...and dunes are dunes, but these were white; amazinly white sand.

Soon after lunch we found our way to Micki and Shawn's house. The three Border collies got along famously. I have never seen three dogs have the same interest in flying discs and they did their thing, (but Rose was the slow one.) Shawn and I went to Tyndal for a personal view of the Raptor...the stealthy, supersonic, F-22. Any other comments would break security and who knows what might happen if I talked about it?

We came back for a lovely dinner Micki had prepared and were there in time to see Dana go to bed. Two lovely girls...Kinsey, now two, is a charmer; Dana...born at just over three pounds is all plump and happy.

We got back about seven thirty after a memorable visit. Didn't matter that there were two championship games on...didn't see a lick of the Pittsburgh game, but it must have been satisfying.

We plan to leave about eight and get some serious mileage in tomorrow. Hoping to make it to Shriveport, LA by tomorrow night. Hopefully they too will have WiFi. Why do I care so much about WiFi when I have had a great day with some good friends?
