Noon Christmas Eve

I am writing Friday evening with the hope I can upload on Saturday morning somewhere. So this will be a bit of repetition and going to do stuff, rather than we did stuff; get it?

We have a quiet day planned tomorrow. That is because we did a lot today. We walked miles at the state park and just came back from an evening stroll with the Rosebud. Oh yes, we ate out tonight, too.

We saw this roadhouse just north of here near Avon Park. It looked like a steak and seafood bar type place and we like trying new venues. We will hit Chili’s and Outback in the future, but tonight was local fare. So at the risk of being run out by the locals, we went in. In a word what we saw was….FLORIDA.

First, the food was good and the prices were lower than reasonable….so guess who the patrons were? FLORIDA. The oxygen bottles, the music (dated and out of tune) and the fact that they had an early bird menu. That alone should have told us something.

Don’t get me wrong, I do not have distain for my elders, on the contrary, I love to interact with them in the general course of things…the coffee shop had a WWII carrier sailor and we talked a great deal. Aleene went outside while I gave this guy some well deserved respect. It is the absence of younger folks and the general public in some places really takes some getting used to.

We don’t line dance, and maybe we should, but the “in crowd” here all line dances. I am waiting to see what the two churches we have picked out seem to be.

My best wishes for a Merry Christmas to all....
