Friday, Dec 23

The first days of winter in orange country have been cool…at night; make that cold. It has not been below freezing, but… Today it got up to seventy, so there is hope.

Willie has a golf cart that is super-sized. For those that make a study of golf carts it is a 36 volt EZ- Go with big sand tires and extra shocks on it that makes it ride up in the air. The golf club bag holders have been removed and a rear facing street has been installed in its place. I mention all this because two nights in a row the four of us spent touring Sebring Village and Tanglewood looking at Christmas lights. Last night we got a bit lost and got a mite chilly, so tonight we wised up and took a blanket along to cover our legs a-la Christmas sleigh ride Florida style.

They go all out for lights down here. You have to keep in mind that most of these folks do not work at all and so they have way too much time to decorate. I would not fit in at all.

We have investigated lots of spots and know where to get coffee, free internet, and cheep breakfasts. We also know where Albertson’s and Winn-Dixie are and…and…we even went inside Wal-Mart and stood in line way too long to check out. Whew. There are two UM churches within our sphere and will attend one Christmas eve and the other on Christmas day.

Tomorrow promises to be sunny and 70ish, but when the sun goes down…42 is what it looked like this morning. But that is all good. Temps like these are conducive to walking which is a goal of ours…need to get toned up a bit.

Two more days until Christmas…wow…it has gone fast once more. As my brother pointed out this will be his 75th; my 65th and I remember all but the first three or four. So many memories of holidays past; that is another blog, I would think.

Rose is fine…into a routine and spent several hours tied outside and is getting plenty of rest.

All the best….
