The afterglow

Both Aleene and I are in sort of a funk after coming back to Holland. She has developed (confirmed by Dr. Scott) shingles...nasty stuff. She has some meds, but she reacts differently than most to some types of meds...namely codine-based stuff, so even that doesn't help...it makes it worse. She is not sleeping well either. The good news is that there are no new spots for the past two days, so now maybe they will run their course. Mainly her back, but she does have some in the front under that garment only (usually) women wear...no fun.

I am funky about the laringitis that developed from a cold I fought and substancially won on the way back. Rose is funky about who knows what. All she does is sleep and when we force her to walk she does so at a markedly reduced pace.

I went to Aquinas and Cornerstone this morning to make plans for some work this spring and early summer...yea for that. I am also working on a fall schedule at Davenport.

While it is nice to be back, we have become more vagabond-like in our thinking...what if...we ask ourselves. We took our grill off the grill deck today to comply with association regulations. We now have to back the car out of the garage and wheel the thing out every time we use it...

Other than that we are fine. I have a bunch of reading to do, am starting another (work-related) blog "HR for the leader in you" and have some mediation training next week. Reality has set in.

We miss Truman and his family. It will be nice to get back there in June...and we are committed to the Sioux Falls, SD wedding over Memorial Day. This is my oldest brother's grandson, Zach, who has turned into a South Dakotan after several years of going to school and living there...he found a bride so all of my siblings are going to show up there...including the Reverend and his bride Midge. We will be glad to see all of them, of course.

So back to reality...and let the sun shine in!
