Another day alone...

This was another one of those odds and ends days. First, I took the Jeep to get serviced. I told Aleene I'd get it done for her while she was gone. This is the vehicle that we will tow when we go southwest and then northwest in March. Well, it was time for some added items due to the 65K miles. So we got a new air filter, serpentine belt (I kept asking Aleene if they had ever checked the belt...so not surprised it was past time, really) and wiper blades.

Then I went to the printers to get some handouts made for my program next week. I delivered the packets to the CDR who I am partnering with on this project. I talked to Connie and Sandy quite a while. While I was there I got assigned a Friend of the Court mediation. This one is over child custody.

By this time it was time to meet two women from the hospital that were on my staff there. One is mid-twenties and the other mid-thirties. They are more like sisters than any two women I have observed in a work setting. They share lots of secrets, I think, because of the history that I know about and some other things alluded to over the four years I have known them. The younger is pregnant and the older was widowed last fall...she is one on my prayer list. They are studying the book Purpose Driven Life in a small group at the younger's church. That was an interesting discussion. I told them Aleene had read this book (given to her by Jeff) and may be a part of the reason that she is in Nicarauga this week. I think these women are getting things in perspective. Lord knows Gail has had more to deal with since the death of her husband that most of experience in a life time.

I came home and hugged my dog (who now has shorter nails) and folded my clothes, but decided not to start any more out door projects. I have more running around to do tomorrow.

I have two more lunches this week...both are more business oriented that the ones yesterday and tomorrow. Oh yes, Rose got the last piece of plastic off the trail this morning. She has the drill down pat. She balked once when she got stuck in a drift. But talk about a purpose drive life, Border Collies are bred to work and if she knows what the goal is she will try with every ounce of energy to accomplish it. I can't get over how she understands and does what I ask even though it is tough....what a dog. When we were coming back from her late afternoon stretch break the paper was sticking out of the paper box...long blue plastic bag hanging especially low. She walked over whipped that sucker out of the box in one motion and high tailed it in tow into the garage. At the door she looked at me as if to say, "That was a piece of cake."
