Newport, OR

We drove to Newport yesterday to see the Aquatic center...seals, sea otters, sharks, and other aquatic life. It was splendid...and given Tru's interest in sharks...he has now seen several through the glass below the surfice....

On the way we stopped at McMinnville for breakfast at this hole in a wall restaurant that we go to....delightful food...not on anyone's diet. After the Aqua show we went to Lincoln City for lunch and ate clam chowder...that has become a favorite when we visit the coast. It too is tempting by unholy. It is made from thick cream with a pat of butter floating on the top....

The weather was fiftyish and sunny....what a climate. Coming back up the road we could see Mt. Hood which is dazzling white in the sun and coverted from top to bottom with snow. I do not remember seeing it so dazzling. Our other fall/winter trips have been too overcast...I think.

What fun it is.....to be in OR with family....
