Christmas Day

We are leaving for the airport in an hour, but before I go, I need to record some thoughts.

First, this is going to be a really good trip. It is always nice to see family...sure, but Truman is the right age to enjoy holidays. I am looking forward to that.

Second, it is good to see Jeff with someone this year. He has had a long road and this may be the opportunity for him, and Mary, to share their future.

Third, Aleene is in her prime. She works here at home and paints and knits and cooks and all that stuff that she likes to do. Her only void is Jan. She misses her...I can tell.

Fourth, Wes and Marilyn have become more of our support group. The friend pool is shrinking and we live so close and having such a long history, they are now, more than ever, our family.

Fifth, I thank God, whenever I remember, for my opportunities both in the past and presently. I am so enjoying my writing and speaking...never will be great, but damn it is fun. I need to get more things to write about in the area of agriculture. I spent the early part of my life doing that stuff and I would like to get back into it to write about it now.

That is Christmas, 2004, in a nutshell. So much for the mush...enjoy.
