Christmas begins

Christmas is a process. It began for us a week ago as Aleene worked on the +/-100 baskets our church distributed for local folks. We went to neighbor's on Saturtday for a condo get together and then we sang Sunday.

The contata has been in my head all week, so that has lasted...and refreshes daily.

Today we met Jeff for lunch in Cadillac and gave him the dog and bag of gifts...more Christmas. Always good to see Jeffrey Scott Lutz Apartments, Westinghouse...as he used to call himself about 36 years ago. Fortunately he will have someone to spend The day with (Mary) since we will finalizing our Christmas in Newberg.

We leave early Saturday afternoon for Portland...and will spend a week with Tru and his family...that will be great.

The one thing (or two) that I forgot was the cards. Most of our exchanges are family whom we see occasionally, but we have some friends that go back over 40 years, some of whom we have not seen in ages. It is nice to connect...maybe this year, we always say as we think about trips hither and thither. Most of these are Navy people we both knew...there are the Penn State people we see occasionally, too. Anyway, Chirstmas really begins with the cards.

Christmas is such a big deal. I love the story and the music...too bad it offends some folks. The traditions and memories are all about family...maybe those who don't like Christmas don't have any traditions or family. That's ok, because all they really need is Christ.
