If you want to see quaint 14th century pub...with two bowling alleys, then Sheep's Heid is for you.
We went here after the sponsored walk in Queen's Park. We used Duddingston Kirk as the start and finish lines, which is located just down the cobble stone street from Sheep's Heid.
Inside, there were heads of different types of sheep mounted on the walls. This is truly a step into the Middle Ages.
The poet's and editor's society met here for centuries. The bowling alleys were located in the back. They used Ten Pins and had a little wall designed to protect the pin boys. Notice there is no approach to the alley...Pete is modeling how to bowl. I must admit I drank a pint of ale.
