Our baby...Rosie...now twelve, has been having a urinary problem for almost a year: She can't hold it any more. The problem was really amplified last year when we went on our early spring trip. By the time we got back she was a mess...dribbling hither and thither. We took her to the vet for a check and they (multiple women, one of which was the vet, but I know not which one) treated her with an antibiotic for a low grade bladder infection. That worked, or she got herself straightened around, but we learned, that except for night time we could not trust her for more than 3 or 4 hours.
This week has been terrible. Three days in a row, even after 1 hour of being outside she dribbled hither and thither. So two things happened: I made another appointment for her at the vet for this morning...and two, she was banned to the garage. Needless to say, she does not like it. For the first time, she now barks to come in. But we are resolute. The dog will not pee in the house again. Whew....what a problem. Anybody know of someone who has a back yard and a dog house (like we used to have on 59th Street?) She is such a pal, and so good, but there comes a time when doggies must be treated as doggies and not people.
Not sure how this will play out what with all our traveling around...and she so likes to travel. And yes, she has peed in the motor home a bit...enough for us to know that is not a solution as we travel this winter.
