The Bale anniversary celebration was great. Of course, all five of the girls were there with their families. I happened to sit next to the son-in-laws who were commenting on how many people their wives are related to. Bill Doberteen, Barb's husband, was making light of the fact that it is not just the cousins but the people who are not related that they consider or call cousins. Whew! I told my story about asking Ilene about a relative as we pulled onto I-196 from M-89 (about 30 years ago as we were headed off to a singing engagement) and the conversation lasted 2 1/2 hours before she ran out of relatives. Anyway that was fun. Skip and Helen were delightful hosts and things went well logistically...serving so many people.
Went to the Sheridan affair...which was at the Saugatuck Yacht Club. Talk about a perfect day and a perfect setting. It was really nice. We stayed until sunset, but the party was just winding up when we left. This was the local reception for their middle son who was married earlier in the summer in the Detroit area. The smoked salmon was yummy.
Gary Frens is headed back to AZ with his dog friends. He will stay there until probably about the time Cooper comes home. He can go back to Florida if need be. Jan is staying with Jodi. Gary called from the road yesterday....only 800 miles left in Texas. He should be coming into Phoenix area later today. Cooper continues to gain.
No other word on Lily...on hold in Ann Arbor, we assume.
Jeff and Mary are sending out invitations soon. We did the address double check last night. Plans are unfolding for them.
Amazing how word travels about their marriage. I saw Fennville people yesterday who knew all about it. I wonder if they have been reading my blog?
We leave at 2:00 p.m. for Lakeview, MI and the Methodist camp there. Two nights on the road. Rose is anxious since the motor home showed up this morning. She loves to travel.
Well, off to church and then pack up and go....check with you later.
