May 22: Traveling Day

Took Aleene to the airport this morning only to find her flight was cancelled. But not to worry there was one at the gate getting ready to load. It was the 6:30 that hadn't left yet...so we rushed to get her on and it sat there because a flight attendant didn't show up. If this was UAL I would have suspected a work slow down, but this was AA...so who knows? But not to worry, they did take off a few minutes before her original flight was supposed to leave.

Her connector got into ORD on time and she is at the gate as I write this so she should be ok and get into PDX at 1:00 PDT (4:00 EDT). Back on PDT: Amy and Bren leave PDX at 5:00 something so they will pick Aleene up, go have "lunch" and then drop them off without going to Newberg. Bren's mom will be there so they and will motor back to Newberg with Truman. Tru will have his Grammy and Naanee with him as his folks wing off.

They fly from PDX to SF and wait a few hours, then wing it over to Seoul in a 12 hour flight.
Not sure of the sequece after that, but they get back into the PDX at 8:30 on Thursday evening. Big party will great them, I assume. They come back through San Francisco as well.

Talked to Amy this morning too and she sounded calm and ready to go....peace, my child.

FYI, I am going out June 9th through South Bend (much better deal, but on UAL which bothers me) and will get back the morning of June 14. Aleene will fly back on AA that evening into GRR.

So between now and June 15 we will be on the move...oh yes, I am driving to Sioux Falls, SD with my brother Dave and his wife, Midge, for Zack's wedding (Zack is my oldest brother's grandson.) We leave this Thursday morning and will be back on Memorial Day. That will be fun. Dave and Midge will come to an empty house since I will be in GR in class until 10ish...and Aleene misses the Lutz family fun again. But she and Tru will have fun waiting for brother Asher to come home...... This will all work out!

Just got the confirmation that Aleene's flight took off on time...yea.
