As many of you are award, Lakeshore Habitat is Aleene's pet project. (I have to reconcile this by saying, "she is a builder of global communities; I am the dispute resolver.") Today is Wednesday so that must mean she is working on the WOW House...the Habitat home on the North Side that is being built by women (Women only Working). She put on her builder clothes and off she went out the door before eight (I was not yet back from breakfast) and did not return until four fifteen.
Her little hands were sore...tired...lots of hammering today, she reported.
I could feel badly that she is doing physical labor while I sit in a chair and write or talk or do what I do, but we have each chosen to do what we enjoy. So, someday I will help her (not on the WOW house) but somewhere...and she helps me every day as I struggle with the stuff I do to try to get people together.
I must report, however, we are both having fun.
