Driving in snow here in the valley

I have to cut the local authorities some slack. They do not have road grading assets on hand to handle the snow. Nobody plows anything here. Result? There are ruts in 99W... our main street...like I have not see since the early 1950s in old New Castle. The snow piles up, gets packed and then cut into by the cars and trucks. In short, driving around town is a mess. Even I-5 the major interstate has huge ruts in it...people are all over the place and traffic is slow, slow, slow.

Our church services were canceled for tonight which is for the best. I put chains on the Honda and we can get around, but it is still nasty. Friday the forecast calls for 40+ degrees. Maybe then we will get some relief.

We have saying around here that 6 inches is passe' now. Usually we don't get that attitude until January. With all of the snow that we have had so far the snow will wear out its welcome here sooner than later.

Love ya.

We set a December record for snow this week...16.9 inches. It beat 1969 with 15 inches.
