Christmas eve the choir sings at three services...Morning, 7:00 and 11:00. During the day we will be getting ready for Christmas dinner.
Christmas morning the boys will open their gifts at home and then come over here for another opening, learn the delights of Aleene's apricot pastry and then we will all enjoy a ham dinner.

It is Christmas eve in Richmond Virginia. The Hanayik/Williams family is together for the 23rd year as Meemie and Daw (Phyllis and Bruce) always come here. Mom and Dad are out visiting old friends and the rest are relaxing waiting for our 10:30 Choir prelude then 11:00 Eucharist. We'll head home after midnight and open one gift per tradition.
Tomorrow we are planning a midmorning brunch (after our gift exchange) consisting of ham and cheese omlets, my favorite apple/raisin french toast, muffins and assorted hot beverages. After eating we will begin to gear up for the annual Hanayik Christmas Night Open House. I have lost track of how many people I invited so we'll see! I've been baking since Thanksgiving so there should be enough desserts for all who happen by!!
On Tuesday we will have our traditional Christmas dinner with turkey and all the trimmings. This year there is a new added demension as we will have 2 boys oops, young men at the table. So for the first time we will have 8 at our table instead of 6. I had to go out and buy 2 more chairs!!

I enjoyed your column in the Holland Sentinel when we were in Fennville last summer and was delighted to hear of your move.
We are in the midst of our Christmas festivities in Oklahoma City. The kids (my three, plus two Rwandan college students who are spending the Christmas break with us) are playing with a few toys and watching a movie. More presents in the morning.
I came to the computer to find a recipe for some red cabbage, and drifted over to blog reading.

Our family started thier Christmas festivities on Christmas Eve, by going to Linda's for the Arnett family gathering. We ate and then watched old movies my Grandma loved to make... I could watch those all night.. although, some are a little tough when I see my parents in them from years back...
then we came home put out magic reindeer food, milk and cookies and off to bed the kids went, and I finished wrapping.. Then Christmas morning the inlaws came over for a yummy huge breakfast ( which Ryan didn't touch) and then on to the presents. Then around 2pm we went to my brother and sister-in-laws for the Bale family gathering. It was nice to see Great Grandma Bale there this year!
Needless to say, the kids are worn out today and won't be getting out of thier jammies...
