Two full weeks

We pulled in Friday, May fifth...two weeks ago...and oh, so much has been accomplished since then.

Aleene has been working hard...and I help, too...but basically, she has been calling the shots on what stays or goes, or where it goes. We had a successful sale. The garage has room in it, but not a lot, so there are still things to move out, but probably in boxes to Salvation Army. The house is cozy, but stuffed in some rooms, especially the one where I am writing now. too many purposes for this room (bedroom #2).

Yesterday we went to Champoeg (pronounced sham POO e) for a picnic and bike ride. Unfortuantely, Asher got sick (barf) while we were out on the bikes so Amy and Bren took him back home while Tru stayed with us for the food and a quiet couple of hours on the bank of the Willamette River. It is such a beautiful park. We camped here for two weeks last year and got to know it quite well. Lots of Rose memories, here.

Asher is somewhat better today, but still not up to his old self. The family did come over for lunch after church and Tru stayed to play Chicken Foot domino with us. His Nawnee showed him this game and he wanted to teach us how to play it. I found directions on the internet, and he turned out to be right, but we have the rules just in case. There is a Domino web site...believe it or not.

My old employer, H&C, announced Friday that they were closing the Holland plant in 18 months. The office will move to the vacinity of GR airport, but the production jobs are goint to Arizona, NC, AL and Mexico. Sad news for a lot of good people. Call it what you want, but knowing the new owners, I would call it greed. The guy in charge is the one who gave me fodder for my book with the statement, "The less for them, the more for us."

We have rain tonight...the first in over a week. It gets kind of spooky here when it gets dry...things are so accustomed to being wet, that dry doesn't wear well. We will see how I feel tomorrow morning when we go out for our walk...or will we. True NW people walk in spite of the rain. Oh well, my driver's license says I am an Oregonian....must be?

Hope your last two weeks were as productive as ours.
