Aleene looked over at me on the way home from church this morning and said, "Do you realize we have started a new life?" I sang in the choir this morning for the first time...had a different robe on than I am used to, standing next to different people, looking out over a different congregation, singing different music...I agreed, that this was the beginning of a new life.
The Connellys came for Sunday lunch. I grilled pork chops, Aleene baked potatoes and boiled some asparagus and fixed a salad...oh yes, and she made a triffle, is that it? We ate outside in the sun savoring each morsel...told stories about the week and talked about the late afternoon event planned at a local park with some other folks. Tru stayed and we played dominoes...much like we had when we were here in February and March. Then, the house was void of furniture, but today it is brimming with our stuff. We have started a new life just when we were getting really comfortable with the old one. I think we are creatures of change. Nothing like a cross country move to shock the system. Oh yes, from a father's perspective it was a grand Mother's Day.
