After 3 1/2 months we returned to Holland last night, thanks to Wes and Marilyn. Aleene and I really felt strange: were we home are were we visiting? There were many things to catch up on, however mundane. Would the Odyssey start? No. Would we be able to remember the channels on the TV after dealing with the Comcast provider in Oregon? No. Do we have ANY food in the house? No. Will the computer work here after sleeping so long? Yes. Can we sleep all night in our bed after being used to something less for so long? No.
Here it is 3:00 a.m. and I am writing in a silly blog and not sleeping in my favorite bed. Sick, sick boy. I began to think about my To Do list for Wednesday and that was it...sleep over...for now.
Good flights (we liked Frontier), no problems (other than getting from the old side of Detroit airport to the NW terminal...don't get me started....) and welcoming friends picking us up. It is better than five days (or five months) across the Oregon Trail.
