Time marches on....

The Jeep is in the shop this morning getting new front brakes...stuff happens to old vehicles. Aleene is finishing painting the kitchen and I am available for any heavy lifting and phone calls on the Jeep. Rose is watching...in between naps.

Amy does not have to travel today or tomorrow, so Aleene is not doing child care...so she paints. We have not had much time to travel...coast or mountains while the child care goes on so we plan to get some time in next week to do that. Bren is in Boise, ID for a couple of days of meetings with his folks there (GFU has a branch there.)

I went to the Men's breakfast this morning from church (First UMC of Newberg.) This is probably where we will settle in. Good group of guys and I get a chance to meet folks outside our very cloistered existance of family and their friends. Met a guy who rehabs old houses, so we made it a point to talk. No word from the designer yet. He said he couldn't work on our project for a month, so I do not anticipate much from him before we head back to Michigan. The builder in the Men's group said you need good plans to get permits here because of the threat of earthquake. So as you in the mid-west dodge tornados, we wait for the Big One.

The weather is typical: rain, sun, rain on any given day. We were here last year during this time and you can have either or both. It has been a bit cooler than normal, so I am ready to warm things up...a bit; not too warm though...we have AC only in the living room and I recall some warm nights here in the summer.

People ask about the condo...zero, zilch, nada on that front. Woodland's contract is up in March so we are processing what a change might do. My guess is that we will stay with the Boys through the summer. Once we are out here, it will be hard to adjust much...and they have been good to us...just haven't sold it. Stuff stays on the market here about two weeks, Bren's mother reports. But we aren't selling here...just pouring money into our bungalow. Maybe someday...

Not much else. First dry spell we get I have to mow grass again...before we head east. Not sure what I will do when we depart for a month. Rose won't do it. Not in her contract. Doesn't surprise me because she can't stay awake long enough to finish the job...unless...the kids are around. Then she goes 110 mph before she gives into. Sorta like how I feel. Gosh, I feel old some times.
