Motivated to write

People of our acquaintance are giving me just enough positive feedback about this blog that I am motivated to keep it going. Just thought you might want to know that. That does not mean that you shouldn't email or call once in a while, though. Blogging is so one-sided.

Beautiful day today...although it was warmer in Holland and Gaylord than it was here...and right now it is pouring and we heard the first thunder here that we have ever heard. Rose did not like that. I mowed the grass and took a load of scrap lumber and junk lumber to the paper mill not too far from here thus marching forward in my attempt to garage the Jeep. Yes, I think we'll make it. Aleene and I made our four o'clock run to The Coffee Cottage...and is now calling me for supper.

I also made reservations for a week at Pacific City in June. The RV park just across the road from the ocean is our destination. If you check the pictures I posted this week...that is our "front yard." Wow... There are two parks side by side. One is plush with indoor swimming pool and play area, etc. etc. while the one we registered into is bare bones (full hookup including cable tv) but no other amenities for 2/3 the cost. Go figure. The Pacific Ocean is our destination, not the RV park, so we are there. Most likely fewer kids, but they are side by side. We are stoked. Our dream for the summer is to spend several weeks a the coast in the MH coming and going as we please. There is so much to see there. Pacific City is about 65 miles from us and the drive there is beautiful. Enough. You get my drift.

Tomorrow evening we baby sit so Amy and Bren can go out for dinner...Saturday the Portland Symphony plays at George Fox Univ. This is within walking distance for us and the tickets are free to GF staff. So Bren got us a pair.

Sunday is our usual...church, family dinner and rest...then Monday we meet for the first time with our designer to see what he has come up with on our addition. Cool.

Tuesday morning we fly east. Bren is taking us to the airport...early and will stay there and work a couple of hours then he flies to Boise, ID that morning. So it works out well. We are excited to get going...mainly because we want to get on with the move. We have doctor, dentist, lunches and dinners planned while we are home. We also will spend two weekends with Jeff and Mary...Easter being one of them. Jeff may have a buyer for the van, so if that works out we will not have to advertise it. We'll see.

I took about 30 hours to read my brother Dave's memiors this week. It is a 250+ page (both sides) tome about the first 17 years of his life, including six at Luacres...the place I wrote about. Dave was 11 when we moved there and to hear what he accomplished for those six years is astonishing. He an my brother Joe (14 at the time of the move) actually began to ship milk to the creamery after the first two years. Well done David... I laughed, I cried and I turned pages without taking much time out.

It has motivated me to get on with my next project.

Tomorrow I head to Rainier, OR for the morning as a followup to the training I did last week. So I am earning a few bucks from time to time.
