It came back. Just when I thought that we were on the downhill slope...we are climbing another frozen mountain. Twenty degrees, 25 knot wind and lake effect snow; what a numbing combination.
Last Saturday it was beautiful here: 40 degrees and sunshine. Then the rain came and now snow and sub-freezing temps. Wednesday, I went over to the place where we store the motor home to awaken it after a two month freeze/snooze. I chose Tuesday because the rain stopped and the ground was a little frozen. While the MH rests on wood pads, getting on and off the pads is grass city.
So with a bit of fear and trepidation, I cranked it up...yea...it started and went to top off with gas. I had put dry gas in the tank, but you never know with the freezing and thawing and condensation going on...you never know. But what a delightful sound...purrrrr. That V-10 is awesome. I drove it around several country blocks and fired up the generator (our auxilary power source.) It too purred. This was the engine that would not start without a makeover when we were buying it...so I am always afeared when I crank on it. GREAT...
We are getting ready to head southwest on the 27th...so I had to check out all the systems...and they all worked fine. On the 24th I am going to bring the MH over here and park it in the lot of the club house and we will begin packing it. We want to leave early on Sunday the 27th. We will go straight south through Indiana to Kentucky and plan on staying there the first night... Monday we go to Arkadelphia, Arkansas (not too far from Hope) an Tuesday we pull into Ft Worth area. We are going to spend Wednesday with Elaine Huff...Aleene's niece (they have the same middle name) and then Thursday we will head west to Arizona...hopefully getting in there on the 5th. We plan on staying with Jan and Gary for five days and then make the plunge to California...San Diego, then straight north up I-5 to Oregon... Whew!
That's what we are going to do about the winter weather this year...leave it behind.
